About us….

2010 Princess Cruise

We’re Bill and Debbie Lees. We like to think of ourselves as the TumbleLees, rhymes with tumbleweeds. We’d like to think we go where the wind blows us – but of course, we try to follow good weather. But we mainly follow our hearts!

This 2010 picture is from our 35th wedding anniversary celebration. But it was also our 21st second marriage year. You see, after 13 years of marriage, we divorced, but our Lord Jesus Christ, restored our marriage! We have shared extensively about it from Chapters 2Chapters 27 in the “Marriage” category of this blog. While we now enjoy our grandsons together, we realize even more, how grateful we are we re-married!

We both have been blessed with great careers and health. Debbie says she was born to travel, growing up in a military family and living overseas twice. She traveled extensively in her career as an FBI Agent. Bill on the other hand, had limited travel experience coming into the marriage. It was his dream to travel. In 2004, Debbie was transferred to the Miami Office of the FBI, which allowed Bill to “retire” from the corporate world, and become his own boss: buying/selling real estate and managing/maintaining his rental properties. So after Debbie officially retired in 2006, they began to travel regularly, by motorcycle, cars, planes and cruises. And then life really got interesting when the first grandchild was due in 2013. That prompted a DRASTIC change in our lifestyle and we “accidentally” became Full Timers (in the RV world). This blog has evolved from a Marriage Blog (we are open to sharing about our trials and tribulations) to a travel blog.

We hope and pray whatever we say and wherever we travel, we will be a blessing to each and all we meet! Thanks for stopping by!

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”

Ephesians 3:20

  1. What a beautiful portrait of you and your husband. You sound like you have a wonderfully positive life attitude and are blessed (as am I) with a fantastic family. Although both my parents are now gone, I have written several short stories (hidden among my photo challenges which of late have become a diversion :)) about them on my blog and feel truly blessed to have had the privilege of such a charmed childhood. If you have time you might read “Magic Drinks”https://nynkblog.wordpress.com/2014/12/18/magic-drinks-2/ or “In the Company of Women” https://nynkblog.wordpress.com/2014/11/23/in-the-company-of-women-2/
to get an idea of my parents. Wonderful blog! and thank you for following mine.

    • Loved these two articles! I was the 3rd and last daughter….And I have a daughter, only child. My husband is ecstatic he finally has his little guy! They are true Buds!
I should expand and do something about my mom….I was a daddy’s girl, but my dad suffered from alcoholism and some other “demons.” My daughter was their only grand daughter, both my sisters have boys, I mean MEN! Geez, they are hitting the 40s!

      • I was one of four daughters and my younger sister had four girls just like my mother! I was the one who ended up with two boys (believe me they are in touch with their feminine side as I had no idea about boys! but the girls love them because they have a gentle touch). My other sister had a boy and a girl. Thank you so much for reading my stories which keep my wonderful memories alive. I imagine growing up with your dad had its challenges but I hope you have many great memories too. Cherish your grandson. Such a doll.

  2. […] Follow the Tumble Lees – A blog about a couple that has had their trials and tribulations, but have succeeded with the help of God. They have gone from having a lot to becoming minimalist, full-time RVers. I am so excited to be following their journey because I’ve already learned so much about how to begin my own journey towards minimalism. […]

    • Oh thank you so much! This blog does need some love, but I am going to decline only in that this blog is really more for family, friends and others interested in the full time RV lifestyle. Although I am going to try and reblog some of our marriage blog, which was how it started! I was also nominated on my other blog, so happily accepted it.

    • Thank you so much! What an honor from such an accomplished blogger as you are. I probably need to accept it to help promote our site, but I have turned it down before. I accepted it on my other site, http://lifetimeofforgiveness.wordpress.com. It is intensive to reply and promote others, so I just have to decline as we have lots to blog about on our travel site. I will still reply to you with my answers soon!

I look forward to reading about your adventures. I am so pleased that love and marriage prevailed!

    • Thank you Michelle! Actually, marriage and then love prevailed! Technically, I didn’t know how to love him, but remarried him and asked the Lord to love him through me! It’s a great concept and it worked. I then began working with 5th and 6th grade boys in AWANA. My husband was the “director” and I was a helper. The boys I had were a bit obnoxious compared to our sweet daughter! So I just asked the Lord to love them through me, and did He ever! I loved those guys so much and still say in touch with several as they are now dads themselves! So now, whenever an unlovely person comes in my life, guess what do? Yep!

    • Oh He has!!! We thank Him EVERY day for our miracle! And now we are enjoying growing old together and spoiling our grandsons as we bless our daughter and her husband for giving us these adorable boys!
And yes, prayer is SO important! It’s an intimate conversation with God! Don’t we love it when our children come to us for help? So much more does God!
Looking forward to learning more about you!

      • Thank you Debbie. We were so surprised when we were looking to name our site and discovered it was available. We snatched it up immediately and hope to share our journeys and the stories of the people we meet for years to come. We are looking forward to hearing about yours.

      • It is such a good name – really captures your journey and to “see” how others also see the USA through our own eyes! We do look for all the goodness and focus on it, but at the same time, are sad when we learn about the negative. The Civil War history really captures us and saddens us greatly – but we must never forget and do all we can to help bring our country together by our common bonds….

      • Thank you Debbie for your kind words. Yes, we can relate to your career more then you know and like you we saw ugly up close and in person. It is so refreshing to see Gods works and the ability to find the good and share it. Testimonies are so important to all of us so we can see the resilience of the way we are created. We love the stories we are hearing and gathering and preparing for posting.

  16. This is a wonderful story. I’ve had three rounds with my husband, but at the moment, we are living separate lives. We don’t share children. That would have helped.

    • Thank you so much! What an honor to be recognized by other bloggers. We aren’t participating in the “pass it along” awards anymore due to a serious lack of time. 😳 It takes all we have to keep the blogs going (we have two) and to stay up with our other dear blogging friends!
